A group of Animal Rescue volunteers are scheduled to be in Chattooga County today from New Jersey. The group is travelling to Georgia to gather animals that will then be adopted out to owners where the animals will be cared for.
Around 75 people are expected to be with group as they make their way to Chattooga County today. The group plans to adopt all of the cats and dogs that are currently in the Chattooga County Animal Shelter.
Chattooga County Animal Control Director "Smitty" Smith told AM 1180 Chattooga County Radio yesterday that the animal shelter will not be taking any new animals today.
