A  fire was reported in the early hours of the morning off the Lyerly Dam road this morning.  A Barn was on fire which lead to a brush fire.

This is one of several unexplainable fires that have occured in the Lyerly Fire Department area over the past several weeks.  AM 1180 Chattooga County Radio News spoke with Sheriff Ralph Kellett today about the fires, some of which have been apparent arson.  Sheriff Kellet stated that his investigators are actively seeking information regarding the fires and wanted to remind residents that there is a reward of up to $10,000 offered by the Insurance Commissioners office for information that leads to the arrest of an arsonist.
