State Superintendent of Schools Kathy Cox is accepting applications for her 2008-2009 Student Advisory Council. The council meets four times throughout the year to discuss how state decisions affect students throughout Georgia. Members advise and help connect the Department of Education with Georgia students. Any student in grades nine through 12 are eligible to apply. Applications are due September 12, 2008. Interested students should call the Georgia Department of Education at (404) 657-1340
