An Alabama man was taken into custody yesterday morning after a domestic disturbance call came in to the Floyd County 911 office.  It is not unusal for 911 calls from cell phones near the state line to come into a neighboring jurisdiction.  The call was placed around 11:30 yesterday morning.  Floyd County police responded to the incident because they were closer than the Cherokee County Sheriff’s Department.  According to reports the man with a gun was dragging a woman around the yard of a Buttermilk Road address about 1 1/2  miles inside the Alabama line.

Floyd County police responded and the Cherokee County Sheriff’s department took the man into custody.  The name of the suspect was not available as of yesterday evening.
