Floyd County and Rome city police were called to the Kangaroo Express convenience store on Kingston Highway on Sunday night after a reported armed robbery.

According to the store clerk, three black males dressed in all black entered the store around 10:45 p.m. They reportedly had bandanas covering their faces and one man was armed with a revolver.

The men apparently jumped the behind the counter of the store at 1407 Kingston Highway and took cash, cigars and cigarettes before leaving the store on foot.

Police quickly arrived on the scene and set up a perimeter, and a Rome police K-9 unit was called to try and track the suspects.

Officers were unable to find the suspects, but investigators were called out to examine the store’s surveillance video.

Nobody was injured in the robbery.
