An Armuchee man was arrested Monday morning after police say he was in possession of suspected methamphetamines while trying to run from police.
According to Floyd County Jail records:
Roland Jovan Johnson, 28, of 1414 Turkey Mountain Road, was arrested by Floyd County Sheriff’s deputies around 8:30 a.m. on John Davenport Road. He was charged with felony possession of methamphetamines, drugs not kept in the original container, and obstruction of law enforcement officers.
Deputies said that while executing a felony search warrant, Johnson failed to comply with police commands and tried to flee on foot. While running, he allegedly tried to discard a quantity of methamphetamines and unknown blue pills in a plastic bag.
After a brief chase, Johnson was apprehended. He remains in jail due to a probation violation.
