A shotgun was found in the vehicle of an 18-year-old student at Armuchee High School on Friday according to Floyd County Schools system officials.

According to reports at the Floyd County Jail:

Taylor David Henshaw, 18 has been charged with felony weapon in a school zone.

He reportedly had the loaded 12-gauge pump action shotgun in the back of his Toyota 4Runner.

Principal J.C. Burris of Armuchee was touring the parking lot and noticed that Henshaw’s vehicle did not have a parking pass.

Henshaw told the school resource officer that he had been dove hunting and left the weapon in his vehicle.  Reports said that Henshaw would be suspended from Armuchee High School.
