Residents in Armuchee Valley in Walker County will be getting public water in the future. Walker County Commissioner Bebe Heiskell approved a contract this wee for engineering work on a new water system for the Armuchee Valley.
Ladd Environmental will provide the engineering work, the same company that has done much of the engineering work for the Chattooga County water projects. Funding for the water project for Walker County is being sought from federal sources. The contract signed with Ladd Environmental this week by Walker County totals around $368,000.
A public meeting is planned in June for residents of the Armuchee Valley to learn more about the proposed water project.
