The Spring Fling Art Show, sponsored by the Mentone Area Arts Council and the Mentone Springs Hotel, runs Saturday from 10 a.m. until 5 p.m. and Sunday from 11 a.m. until 5 p.m. at the hotel.
The show will feature works from 44 artists from across the region. In addition to the show, there will be a party Saturday night that will feature food and entertainment by Pollard Greens, a jazz ensemble from Rome, Ga. Tickets are $35.
On Saturday at noon, an automobile show that will feature vintage Buicks will be at the Mentone Inn.
The grand opening of the Forge Gallery in Mentone is also slated for Saturday in Mentone in the rear of the Hitching Post behind Crow’s Antiques. MAAC members Walter and Rhonda Howell own the gallery.
It will feature the works of blacksmith artist Walter Howell, green artist Clay Binkley, coppersmith Mont Overton, metal artist Jeff Orebaugh, metal artist Harriet O’Rear, fused glass artist Melinda Whitt, walking stick artist Kim McCallie, broom artist Lenton Williams, wood box and cutting board maker Randy Cochran, reed basket maker Billy Kirby, glass artist Andi Beyers, photographer Paul Shoffner and Windsor chair maker Will Henry Cobble.
