Harbin Clinic Audiologist Steve Fellows is retiring after 42 years of serving individuals with hearing needs and pioneering Georgia’s licensing standards and procedures in audiology. Fellows will see his last patient on June 30.
Fellows is known for his work in establishing Georgia’s first rules, guidelines and law for the licensing of audiologists, even chairing a legislative committee in order to accomplish the task during the 1960s. He holds the first license for audiologist issued in Georgia: number 001.
Fellows also worked as a mentor to numerous audiologists in-training, including his colleague, James E. Payne, M.Ed. and colleague Cathy Grant, M.A.
Fellows has served, and will continue to be devoted to, the Free Clinic of Rome and the Boy Scouts of America as well as being involved in a free-meal program offered in the community through his church on a monthly basis
