Officials with the Walker State Prison in Rock Spring are reporting a case of bacterial meningitis.  The inmate was hospitalized on Tuesday of this week with multiple symptoms including an altered mental status.  Bacterial meningitis is highly contagious.  All individuals in the prison population at Walker State Prison who were exposed are now being treated with antibiotics.  So far the illness appears to be limited to the one case.
