State Representative Barbara Massey Reece will be running unnaposed in the Democratic Primary to be held in July and in the General Election this November.  No Democratic or Republican candidates met the deadline for running for District 11 seat this year other than the incumbent, Ms. Reece.

Representative Reece told AM 1180 on Friday evening that she was "extremely pleased with the confidence that the voters of the 11th District have placed in her."  Reece went on to say that she will work hard to represent everyone living in the 11th House District of Georgia. 

Having retired from teaching in the spring of 1998, Representative Reece was elected to the Georgia House of Representatives where she works full time for the constituents of the 11th District, The 11th District is made up of all of Chattooga County and a large portion of Floyd County.  Barbara serves on the Education Committee where she served as vice-chair and is currently vice-chair of the Education Support Sub-committee.  Barbara serves on the State Institutions and Properties Committee as well as the Science and Technology Committee and the Congressional and Legislative Reapportionment Committee.

Representative Reece lives in Menlo and attends Oak Hill Methodist Church.
