A man has been charged with concealing a death and tampering with evidence after police found a body behind a motel on Joe Frank Harris Parkway in Cartersville Tuesday.

According to the Cartersville Police Department, additional charges are likely for Alan Scott Martin, 42.

The arrest is in connection with the death of Roy David Owens, 55, who was found in a wooded area behind the motel. Martin was Owens’ roommate.

The body has been sent to the GBI crime lab, where an autopsy will be performed later today to determine cause of death.
