A hunter near Cloudland on Lookout Mountain killed a large black bear over the weekend.  According to the Georgia Department of Natural Resources, hunters that purchase a big game tag in Georgia are allowed to kill one black bear per season.

There are some limitations on killing bear besides the one per hunter.  Hunters are only allowed to kill female sows if they do not have cubs under 75 lbs.

The bear killed near Cloudland over the weekend was reported to weigh in at over 300 lbs.
