Bear sightings are reported often in Northwest Georgia, but rarely in downtown Rome.  According to the Floyd County 911, someone reported seeing a bear on Broad Street on Wednesday evening.  There are conflicting reports as to if more sightings have been reported.  Bears often go outside their normal areas of travel this time of year, especially younger male bears.
