Voters in the City of LaFayette are going to get the chance to vote in a non-binding “straw” poll on the sale of beer and wine by the drink within the city limits of LaFayette.  The LaFayette City council said that they will be paying attention to how voters feel about the issue when the vote takes place. 

While council members would not be bound by the results of the poll, most council members have said that they will go along with however the majority votes in the poll which will be conducted at the same time as an election where a mayor and two council members will be elected.
