FEBRUARY IS AFRICAN-AMERICAN HISTORY MONTH… AND A SPECIAL PROGRAM WILL BE HELD AT THE MARSH HOUSE IN LAFAYETTE THIS SATURDAY, FEB. 20th.  ATLANTA STORYTELLER AKBAR IMHOTEP WILL BE TELLING FABLES ABOUT FREEDOM, SURVIVAL AND DETERMINATION. 

THE MOUNT ZION BAPTIST PRAISE TEAM WILL ALSO SING. TOURS OF THE 1836 MARSH HOUSE – WHOSE FIRST OWNERS WERE SLAVE HOLDERS – WILL BE HELD TO EXPLAIN THE WAYS OF LIFE IN THE PRE-CIVIL WAR ERA.  ADMISSION IS FREE… AND THE BLACK HISTORY MONTH TRIBUTE WILL BE HELD SATURDAY AT 1 PM.   THE MARSH HOUSE IS AT 308 NORTH MAIN STREET IN LAFAYETTE.
