Authorities in Cherokee County, Alabama continue their investigation into the circumstances surrounding the death of a yet-to-identified individual, whose body was discovered Saturday afternoon, in Cherokee County. Reportedly, several people who were riding four wheelers in a wooded area, located near the Terrapin Canoe Rental Facility on County Road 175, found the decomposing remains of a body in a vehicle, which was parked down a power line bed some 50 yards back in the woods. Cherokee County Sheriffs Department Investigators and the Cherokee County Coroners Office, along with units from the States Forensic Crime Lab responded to the scene. Very little information has been released, with details remaining sketchy; however, initial reports indicate that the body had been in the vehicle for approximately two weeks, or possibly longer, and that a firearm of some type was also found in vehicle.
