The body of an unidentified male was pulled from the Coosa River Friday Morning by emergency personnel who remain mum about the situation at the time of report.

According to Rome Public Safety Radio Traffic , Rome Police and Firefighters along with Floyd EMS were called to the area of the Coosa River at Heritage Park after a complainant called 911 stating that a body had been spotted floating in the water. Rome Fire Rescue Boat 51 responded to the seen and firefighters removed the body from the river by 7:00 pm and were waiting at the boat launch for the coroners arrival.

As the crowd of onlookers along with a number people driving through the park grew, Police cordoned off the immediate area of the boat ramp as they continued to investigate. Police would not comment on the situation beyond the fact that the body was unidentified.

Public eyewitnesses at the park speculated that the body may be that of a 22 year old Rome man who has been missing since Wednesday Night.
