Officials in Cherokee County Alabama, discovered a body in Weis Lake near the state docks around 8:45 AM on Thursday, April 24, 2008.

The body was unclothed and it has not been determined how long the body was in the water.  At this time it is not known if the drowning was a homicide, or if it was suicide, or an accident.

The Cherokee County Alabama Sheriff’s Office called in the Rescue Squad to use underwater cameras to determine if perhaps a vehicle was in the water that the victim may have been in.

The sheriff’s Department, along with the Cedar Bluff Police and Center Police were the first on the scene.  Later the Alabama Marine Police, The ABI, and The Alabama Department of Forensic Sciences joined them.
