The 2008-2009 budget might have gotten top billing during last night’s work session for the Chattooga County Board of Education, but it wasn’t the only thing on the agenda. The board voted unanimously to approve a final payment of five thousand dollars ($5,000) to Josh Wyatt Construction for the company’s work “roughing in” the plumbing at the Chattooga High School press box. Members also gave the okay to “close” on a fifty-three thousand dollar ($53,000) piece of property beside the Lyerly Elementary School. After the purchase is finalized, excavating is scheduled to prepare the facility for the upcoming school year.
