Chattooga County Sheriff John Everette told WTVC – News Channel 9 in Chattanooga that the murder weapon in the Treadaway homicide last weekend could have been a metal broom handle that was found laying outside the residence on Reservoir Road in Summerville.

Dora Treadaway is charged with murder in the death of her 52 year old husband after he was found dead from blunt force trauma.  Chattooga County Sheriff’s investigator Larry Kellett told AM 1180 Chattooga County Radio that Claude Randy Treadaway was found with multiple bruises to the back of his body.  There is no evidence that Claude Treadaway fought back during the attack.

Alcohol was a factor.  Both the victim and his wife had been drinking heavily all day last Saturday.  Funeral arrangements for Treadaway are being handled by Erwin – Petitt Funeral Home.  Dora Treadaway remains in the Chattooga County jail.
