The long holiday weekend was enjoyed by most folks, but some wound up in jail as a result of poor choices.  Chattooga County law enforcement was kept busy since Friday with a string of DUI’s and disturbance calls.

Chattooga County Sherrifs Deputies conducted road-blocks throughout Chattooga County over the weekend which netted several DUI’s.  One person was even charged with DUI at 9 in the morning according to sources with the Sherrif’s Department.

In addition to DUI’s and road-blocks, the Sheriff’s department was kept busy passing out warnings for the new seatbelt law for pickup trucks.  A deputy with the Sherriff’s Department told AM 1180 that while they have not started writing tickets yet, they will in the near future for those who don’t choose to obey the pickup seatbelt law.
