Candidates for political office in Chattooga County and their supporters are beginning to turn up the heat in campaigning for next week’s primary election. Candidates for county commissioner, sheriff and tax commissioner as well as their supporters have been campaigning door to door and passing out literature in support of their effort to hold office. AM 1180 Chattooga Radio News spoke with several of the candidates this week who have said that they feel their will be a large contingent of voters that turn out for the primary next week.
One local Chattooga County Republican party member is passing out literature in support of Democratic candidate John Everett. AM 1180 Chattooga Radio news obtained a copy of the flyer that is in circulation supporting Everett that is being distributed by a former Republican candidate for tax commissioner in Chattooga County. Everett has denied any ties to the local Republicans except for what he said was one address to a meeting of the local Republican Party presenting his plans to run for Sheriff.
