The Tifton Gazette reports that state Republican Rep. Austin Scott of Tifton, who has announced his candidacy for governor, said Wednesday that he is embarking on a 1,000-mile “Walk of Georgia” tour beginning Saturday at Chickamauga in northwest Georgia. Scott’s walk will take him on foot through the state. His goal is to meet citizens, listen to their concerns and ask for their support, he said.
