Former Floyd County Magistrate Judge Mathis was arrested at his home Thursday night on more than two-dozen charges that authorities say are all realted to financial transaction for his cattle business. Georgia Bureau of Investigation spokesman John Bankhead says none of the charges at this time are connected to Mathis’ role as a judge.

The alleged incidents occurred in 2009 and earlier this year. Since the time of his arrest Mathis has bonded out of Floyd County custody and been transfered to Polk County where authorities had plaecd a hold for Mathis upon his arrest.
