Authorities still don’t know why a train derailed in Rocky Face on Sunday afternoon.  The train accident happened with a CSX train that was travelling through a wooded stretch of railroad track near Old Chattanooga Road in Whitfield County. No one was injured in the train derailment, and reports indicate that around 10 to 15 cars left the tracks during the accident. CSX railroad officials say that they will be reviewing the train’s “event recorder”, a devise similar to “black boxes” used in airplanes, to help determine the cause of the accident. The cars that derailed were carrying lumber and cotton seed.
