The Cedar Bluff Fire & Police Departments were busy with fire calls this past week. On Wednesday evening, they responded to a call of a vehicle fire on Highway 9 North near the State Docks. When they arrived, they found the automobile fully engulfed in flames. Traffic was delayed for a considerable time while crews fought to extinguish the blaze. The occupants of the car were able to exit safely, but the cause of the fire is under investigation. Then, on Thursday, the Cedar Bluff crews needed assistance from Gaylesville and Centre Fire Departments as they fought a mobile home fire on Highway 9 North near the intersection of Highways 9 and 35. The mobile home was fully engulfed in flames when crews arrived, and it is believed that the mobile home was abandoned. The cause of that fire is also under investigation.  (WEIS Radio)
