A woman who was hospitalized after a crash last week near Cave Spring has been arrested on charges of driving under the influence of alcohol.

According to Floyd County Jail records:

Stephanie Deanne Warren, 36, of 7985 County Road 16 in Centre, Ala., was arrested on warrants by Floyd County Sheriff’s deputies on Sunday afternoon. She was charged with one count of DUI and one count of felony serious injury by vehicle.

According to Floyd County police, Warren was driving a Dodge Caravan minivan west on Buttermilk Road in southern Floyd County around 10 p.m. Wednesday night when she went off the roadway and collided head-on with a large tree.

Police said that blood alcohol tests determined she was driving while intoxicated.

Warren and two juveniles in the vehicle were injured, with Warren suffering the most serious injuries. She was in critical condition for two days, and Floyd Medical Center officials said she was released from the hospital on Sunday.

Warren was released from jail custody Sunday afternoon on $4,950 bail.
