The Chattooga County Chamber of Commerce held its regular monthly meeting Tuesday at the Civic Center. Farm Bureau was the program sponsor and Tabetha Fowler of Farm Bureau gave a presentation on the benefits of becoming a Farm Bureau member. Chamber President, David Tidmore, told about meeting with the North Georgia Development Authority in Rock Spring about the Volkswagon plant that is coming to the Chattanooga area. The planned Walgreen Pharmacy which is slated to come to town and be located across the street from BB&T Bank was discussed. Businesses at that location would be moving to other locations within the city. Representative Barbara Massey Reese spoke about the state budget cuts that are taking place as well as ones that could take place in the future. The next Chamber luncheon is set for September 9th at the Lawrence Center in Menlo.
