AM 1180 Chattooga County Radio reported last weekend about a Chattooga Alumni that is making news for the Georgia Northwestern Mustangs. The Rome News Tribune had this to say about Perie Finley:
This seems rather fitting: Two stars from Northwest Georgia are now starring at Georgia Northwestern.
Kyle Wilson, from Armuchee, and Perie Finley, from Chattooga, have joined forces as freshmen at Georgia Northwestern Technical College, and they teamed up this past weekend to help lead the Mustangs to a season-opening win.
Wilson, the all-time leading boys scorer in Armuchee history, poured in 20 points as the Mustangs downed West Georgia Tech, 94-83.
Finley, who helped lead Chattooga to a state tourney berth last season, added 16 points for the Mustangs (1-0).
GNW built a 48-41 halftime lead and steadily added to the advantage from there.
Former Dade County star Jesse Moore added eight points while playing in front of several of his former Dade teammates.
The Mustangs will face a tough test this weekend, playing Chattahoochee Tech in Marietta on Saturday.
