Citing the economy as a factor, the Chattooga County Board of Education voted in Monday night’s meeting not to demolish a building at the Chattooga Education Center that is dilapidated, according to published meeting minutes.

Board Chairman William "Fuzz" Anderson suggested that the building not be demolished right now due to the economy.  He said that the money might be needed for something else.  Board Member Elsberry seconded that opinion and the other board members agreed.

The board was considering tearing down a building that was in bad shape at the Education Center for an amount not to exceed $15,000.00
