The Chattooga County Board of Education held its regular monthly meeting Monday night. Many items were discussed and approved. Among those more pertinent items were: approval of a bid from Morris Electric in the amount of $16,380.00 for wiring the new Metals Lab at Chattooga High School, and the approval of the Superintendents reccomendation not to renew the insurance contract with Utica Insurance. The Board voted instead to contract with the Georgia School Board Associaton to insure the school system property and liability. In personnel action the Board approved the certified resignation of Selena Parrish, social studies teacher at CHS. They approved the transfers of Robert Lancasster as a CHS full-time custodian and David Romine as a full time bus driver. Also, the Board approved Melanie Teems as a special education parapro at SMS. The Board approved Emily Smith, Ann Strawn, Pam Williams and Allie Prince as substitute teachers. THe Board approved Janie Harris, Patricia Howard, Debbie Mitchell and Penny Parris as substitute food service employees.

The next meeting of the Board of education will be the first Monday in January. The meeting location will be the Chattooga County Education Center which was formerly Pennville School. The meeting time will be at 7pm. The public is invited to attend.
