The Chattooga County Board of Education will hold their monthly work session coming up this evening at 6 PM. 

On the agenda tonight, Kenny Adkins from the Construction Education Foundation of Georgia is expected to be on hand to present the Chattooga High School welding program with its Industry Certification.  Jeff Owings, instructor for the program will accept the certification and be honored by the board.  Also, the board will be recognizing Lisa Hughes for her role in strengthening Chattooga High School’s workforce development efforts.

The board is also expected to consider Superintendent Jared Hosmer’s recommendation to approve the Fiscal Year 2020 Federal Funds and to consider the superintendents recommendation that the board call for a renewal of the five-year Education Sales Tax and for additional General Obligation Bonds.  The purpose of the bonds will be for previously incurred debt and to build and equip a new Menlo School.
