Law enforcement officers in Cherokee County, Alabama have arrested a Chattooga County man who was wanted by the Georgia Department of Pardons and Paroles. Cherokee County Sheriff Jeff Shaver stated that David Wayne Burrage of Summerville was arrested earlier this week after giving Cherokee County deputies a false name. Burrage told police he lied about his name because he is wanted on a 20 year sentence that was given to him for manufacturing meth and shoplifting. The Cherokee County Sheriffs Department stated that Burrage was wanted in Cherokee County as well on felony warrants. The 43 year old man is being held at the Cherokee County Detention Facility in Centre.
