Chattooga County Resident will have plenty to choose from for Saturday activities.  Today organizers have planned Pets in the Park going on at Dowdy Park in Summerville.  This is an opportunity for pet owners to enjoy a day with their pets and also get some valuable information.  A rabies clinic will be held and you can get your pets shots for only $8.00. Also going on at Dowdy Park today at 11 AM, the Veterans Committee will be dedicating new memorial markers at the Veterans Memorial Park.  Committee member Sewell Cash told AM 1180 Chattooga County radio that 126 markers have been ordered that will be added to the park.  Some of the markers have not made it in as of yet, but they will have a dedication for those markers at a later date. Also going on today….the Fall Festival organized by the Veterans Committee in Trion.  There will be a ceremony at 1 PM this afternoon honoring service men and women at the track field in Trion. In addition to all these activities, the Rattling Gourd Art Festival will be held at the Chattooga County Civic Center in Summerville.  This event features local artists and their creations.  The festival is named for a native American that once lived in what is now Chattooga County.  It is an opportunity for Chattooga County’s artists to exhibit and offer for sale their various pieces of art work.  The Rattling Gourd Art Festival will take place today from 9 AM until 5 PM and then again on Sunday from 11 AM until 5 PM.
