The Chattooga County Board of Education held a  regular session meeting Monday night. The Board approved the Even Start Budget which will be good through September 30, 2009. The Board approved a fundraiser for Menlo Elementary School and requests for field trips. The board also approved a recommendation from the Superintendent to remodel the old Media Center at the Chattooga County Education Center, formerly Pennville School, to create a larger meeting space for future BOE meetings and other meetings as the need arises. The Board also approved the following personnel positions: Alvin Bullard as SMS Custodian, Diane Hudgins, Food Service Assistant, David Romine Full Time Substitute Bus Driver, Lawrence Broome Maintenance Technician, Greg Bentley Maintenance Worker, John Young substitute custodian, Thomas Day, Janice Jennings, Jan Stoker, Substitute Teachers, Heather Spears and Martha Turkett as Substitute Food Service Workers. Kathy Floyd and Ray Teems were approved for Extended Medical Leave.
