Chattooga County Commissioner Jason Winters has announced plans to apply for a half million dollar block grant through the Coosa Valley Regional Development Center.  The purpose of the funds would be to continue the development of public water in the Shinbone Valley area of Menlo.  The grant would pay for water lines on Shinbone Valley Road, Blowing Springs Road and Massey Road and would eventually allow for water to be pumped up Lookout Mountain to supply the Cloudland project.  Currently the county is paying the City of Ft. Payne to supply the water to the Cloudland Water project.
