Chattooga County native Ryan Jarrett was a winner in a three way tie in the tie-down roping event at the National Finals Rodeo held in Las Vegas, Nevada.
It was a three-way tie between Clint Cooper, Tyson Durfey and Ryan Jarrett each posting a time of 7.6 earning checks for $14,230.77.
Jarrett was the 2005 World Champion. Jarrett said that he knew the pattern of the calf but that the calf didn’t do what was expected. Jarrett said "it wasn’t very pretty but effective." Jarrett said that he hoped to keep drawing well the rest of the week. Jarrett, 21, entered Thursday night’s seventh round in a heated race for the all-around world championship title. Jarrett has amassed $183,147 this season, putting him just $874 behind leader Trevor Brazile.
Jarrett, who grew up on a dairy farm in Chattooga County told Rodeo Up.Com that he preferred rodeo life to milking cows. Jarrett now lives in Comanche, Oklahoma.
