At the last Chattogoa County Board of Education meeting, board members approved a new contract for Superintendent Jimmy Lenderman that starts June 30, 2012. The board gave the superintendent a two year contract starting next summer.
Superintendent Lenderman told AM 1180 that he is looking forward to the new year and is looking for ways to save county taxpayers money as two major construction projects get underway. The addition to Leroy Massey Elementary School is expected to start in the spring and the plans for the new Chattooga High School are starting to be developed.
Lenderman told AM 1180 that while nice facilities are important, during these tough economic times it is equally important to make sure that Chattooga County citizens are getting the most for their tax dollars.
Superintendent Lenderman will be our guest on a Newsmakers Interview program coming up in January. Stay tuned for broadcast times.
