Chattooga High School celebrated National Signing Day this morning by holding a special assembly to  honor four high school seniors who have signed athletic scholarships with various colleges.  CHS principal Jimmy Lenderman said, “this day is being held in order to recognize outstanding student athletes.” He stated that, “the goal of CHS is to be the best school in the country and CHS is producing outstanding students.”  Athletic Director and head football coach Brad Waggoner said, “that his goal as a football coach is obviously to win games, but also to give students the opportunity to go further and make themselves better by gaining a college education.” He stated that, “education is the key to success in life and he hopes to help other student athletes further their education.” He informed all students that a key to sitting at the signing table depends on excellence in the classroom. We congratulate these students on their outstanding achievement on the field and wish them the best as they go forward to accomplish many more life goals.

Derek Dodd –

Derek is not only an outstanding athlete, but also a scholar. He maintains a 3.6 GPA. He will be attending Darton College in Albany, Georgia. During last baseball season he hit 21 RBIs and 5 home runs. Coach Denver Pate commented that Derek is dedicated on and off the field.

Rashad Ramsey –

Rashad served as quarterback for the CHS Indian football team. Coach waggoner  commented that Rashad was very instrumental in the success of the team. Rashad is a leader on and off the field. He will be attending the University of West Georgia .

Senorise Perry –

Coach Waggoner commented that there is no question that Senorise has a lot of athletic ability and the tools to be successful. He is a state champion in track. During the football season he scored 14 touchdowns. And held 1,000 yards rushing. Senorise will be attending the University of Louisville.

Cody Hall –

Cody maintains a 3.7 GPA. He is an outstanding athlete and student. Coach Denver Pate stated that Cody led the baseball team in all areas of pitching. He holds a 2.35 ERA. He holds an average of 62 3/3 for hitting. He is committed to Mountain View College in Texas where his father is stationed in the US Military.
