This Thursday the Northwest Georgia Regional Commission is expected to approve a draft to send to the Georgia Department of Community Affairs listing important natural and historic places in the 15 county region that includes Chattooga County.
Some of the places on the list for Chattooga County include Paridise Gardens in Pennville and the Chattooga County Courthouse in Summerville.
Governmental agencies and organizations in Chattooga, Floyd, Bartow, Polk, Gordon, Walker, Catoosa, Dade, Walker, Whitfield, Paulding, Haralson, Fannin, Gilmer and Pickens counties submitted nominations.
The list will be sent to the GDCA for review and then returned to the NWGRC for adoption. The NWGRC is expected to approve the draft on Thursday of this week.
