A Chattooga High School senior was killed in a motorcycle accident on Saturday in Northeast Alabama.  Seventeen year old Daniel Reynolds was participating in a Motorcross qualifying event at the Northeast Alabama Agribusiness Center in Rainsville on Saturday afternoon.

The police chief in Rainsville, Charles Centers called it "a freak accident" and said that Reynolds lost control of his motorcycle when he came down on a jump.  Witnesses said that the rear wheel of the motorcycle hit Reynolds in the back and then threw him into a wall.

DeKalb County Coroner Tom Wilson pronounced the man dead at the scene. The incident happened at about 2:30 p.m. during a pre-qualifying trial for the Tri-State Arena Motocross event scheduled for Saturday night. He said about 200 people witnessed the accident.

Funeral services for Reynolds will be held on Tuesday afternoon at 3 PM at Mason Funeral Home in Summerville. Visitation will be held Monday evening from 5 PM until 8 PM.
