Chattooga County Commissioner Jason Winters pointed out on Thursday that the county has the second highest unemployment rate in all of Northwest Georgia.  Gordon County’s unemployment rate is 13.8% and Chattooga County’s unemployment rate is 13.4%.  Numbers from the Georgia Department of Labor this week showed that unemployment had risen again in Chattooga County while it dropped in Walker, Dade and Catoosa Counties.  Catoosa County currently has the lowest unemployment figure in the state at 7.3%.
