The Chattooga County Water District Board met in their regular monthly meeting on Tuesday evening at the Water District Office located on Old Highway 27 in Trion.
The board approved an application for a GEFA grant to fund expansion of the water project throughout Chattooga County. The application is just one of several grants that Chattooga County Commissioner Jason Winters wants to apply for to expand the current water service to cover the whole county.
The board also discussed the recent purchase of two new Freightliner trucks which were needed for pulling equipment around the county. A downpayment has been made on the trucks and they should be delivered within several weeks after a dump bed and service body are completed for the vehicles.
The board also approved the hiring of a new Water District Employee who will start work on April 1st of this year.
