The unemployment rate in Chattooga County Saw a slight drop from June to July according to numbers that were released yesterday by the Georgia Department of Labor.
The unemploment rate in June was 13.1% and in July it dropped to 12.4%. While those numbers represent only a slight decrease in unemployment rates in the county, at least it is headed in the right direction.
Other counties in the area also saw unemployment rates drop or remain relatively constant. In Floyd County the rate remained unchanged at 11.3%, Bartow, Catoosa and Walker Counties saw their July unemployment numbers remain the same. Only Whitfield and Gordon Counties saw a slight increase in their unemployment rate.
