The increase in public school graduation rates was one of the key factors in Chattooga County being able to attain “Work Ready Status.”  Georgia Governor Sonny Perdue announced earlier this week that Chattooga County is now certified “Work Ready”.  Because Chattooga County has increased its public school graduation rate from 70.3 percent to 75.8 percent and earned 503 work ready certificates. The county will receive a $10,000 grant to continue their efforts to improve graduation rates and related workforce enhancements.  The purpose of the Work Ready Initiative is to enhance economic development opportunities, particularly in rural Georgia
