In a statement from Cherokee County Superintendent Brian Johnson, it has been confirmed that a first-grade student at Spring Garden, brought a gun to school last Friday (March 12th).

There was no attempt of any sort made to use the weapon.

The gun was confiscated by school officials and turned over to law enforcement.

Superintendent Johnson, said that the Board of Education would follow local and state disciplinary procedures in dealing with the student and that state law prohibited the disclosure of any additional information regarding the incident.
