The decision to remove the chief registrar in Chattooga County was out of necessity according to Chattooga County Probate Judge Jon Payne, however the person removed told local media that it was more of a personal conflict that resulted in here removal.

The former chief registrar Kim Moses told The Summerville News this week that she should have expected this trouble to come from Judge Payne. Allegedly, she opposed him on some issue and her removal is just a vendetta.

Judge Payne told AM 1180 Chattooga County Radio earlier this week that the decision to remove the registrar was due to the way Moses was running the registrars office.  The judge says Moses didn’t manage her and the other workers’ time well and created unnecessary overtime hours.

The grand jury used a list of 11 potential people for the registrar’s job to pick from. Superior Court Judge Wood signed a new order Monday appointing the registrars and Moses wasn’t on the list. Mary Alice Maxey, Elaine Pledger and Johnny Brimer were on the list.
