Twenty four people lost their lives on Georgia Highways over the Christmas Holiday traffic period which began on Christmas Eve and ran through midnight Sunday.

According to the Georgia Department of Highway Safety, their were 4 fatalities reported by the Calhoun post of the Georgia State Patrol.  State Patrol posts in Rome and LaFayette reported no fatalities during the holiday period.

There were a total of 3,325 crashes and 868 injuries reported state wide over the holiday period.
